In the late 14th century, a legendary Chinese monk began teaching a series of martial arts forms. Billions of people have practiced those forms over thousands of years, an ancient and respected tradition known as Tai-Chi, revered for their resulting health benefits and spiritual clarity. This knowledge has passed through hundreds of years and across thousands of miles to find a new home: The Bronx.
WSPT is pleased to offer an exciting new Tai-Chi/Yoga class to our patients and wellness members. Taught by Marc Kaplan, author of Head in the Clouds: A Guide to Yoga for Airline Travelers , the class focuses on the fundamentals of Tai Chi such as breathing, stretching and relaxation. Regular practice of Tai Chi results in greater flexibility and stress reduction, and has been found to bring relief to those suffering from arthritis, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
